Airport Review: London Stansted Airport (STN)

Stansted Airport is an international airport serving London. The airport is London’s third busiest and fourth busiest across the United Kingdom.

The airport does not serve as a hub for any airline but does serve as an operating base for Jet2.com, Ryan Air and TUI Airways. The airport is served by another 18 airlines that offer flights to 180 cities across Europe, North Africa, the Middle East and part of Asia.

The airport features a single runway with plans for second runway part of STN’s expansion plans. The airport features a single terminal building that is connected to three smaller satellite buildings that contain all of the airport’s gates. Satellite buildings are connected to the terminal building via sky bridges and a dedicated people mover.

The airport features a dedicated train station located below the main terminal’s concourse. From here, travellers can take the Stansted Express train to reach Liverpool Street Station in central London in less than an hour.
