Airport Review: Edinburgh Airport (EDI)

Edinburgh Airport is an international airport serving the city Edinburgh, Scotland. The airport opened in 1918 before its conversion to commercial traffic in 1947, is the busiest in Scotland and the sixth busiest across the United Kingdom.

The airport does not serve as the hub for any airline but does act as an operating base for easyjet, Jet2..com, Loganair and Ryanair. The airport is also serviced by another 32 airlines that offer flights to cities across Europe, Africa, North America, the Middle East and Asia.

EDI airport features two runways that service the airports single terminal. The terminal building is clean, modern and features all the usual amenities one would expect from a medium sized European airport.

The airport is located approximately 13 kilometres from the centre of Edinburgh. The Edinburgh light rail network serves the airport via the dedicated Edinburgh Airport station. Travel time into the city approximately 30 minutes. The tram also connects to the nearby Edinburgh Gateway station where you can change to the ScotRail train network. Taxi and rideshare services are also available.
