
Handed AIrport is one of two international airports serving the city of Tokyo. HND is the second busiest airport in Asia and forth busiest in the world. The airport also continually ranks within the best airports across and Asia and around the world.
The airport served as Tokyo’s principal international gateway until 1978 when most international flights were transferred to the newly opened Narita Airport. In 2010 Haneda would once again become the city’s main international airport with opening of a new dedicated international terminal.
The airport features four runways that serve the airports three terminals. Each terminal is modern and features some of the best amenities that can be found at any airport across the continent. Highlights include the Edo period inspired traditional market place and the one of the world’s best observation decks.
The airport serves as a hub for Japan’s largest two airlines Japan Airlines and All Nippon Airways. The airport also serves an operating base for Air Do, Skymark Airlines, Solaseed Air and StarFlyer. The airport is also served by another 42 airlines that offer flights to cities across Asia, Oceania, North America and Europe and the Middle East.
Haneda is located in Ōta, 14km south of the centre of Tokyo. The city centre is easily accessible via Tokyo’s vast public transportation network. The Tokyo Monorail and the Keikyu train line are fast options that can have you in the city in as little as 20 minutes.
