
Incheon International Airport is a major airport serving the South Korean capital of Seoul. The airport opened in 2001 replacing Gimpo International Airport, the former airport serving the city of Seoul. Since opening, ICN has continuously ranked as one of the best and busiest airports in Asia and the world.
The airport took almost ten years to build on reclaimed land near Incheon, a city located to the east of Seoul. The airport features four runways that service the 111 gates that are spread across two terminals. Both terminals one and two cater to domestic and international flights with flag carrier Korean Air operating out of Terminal 2.
The airport serves as a hub for Asiana Airlines, Air Premier, Air Seoul, Jeju Air, Jin Air, Korean Air and T’way Air. The airport is also served by another 74 airlines that offer flights to 152 destinations across Asia, Oceania, North America, Europe and Africa. As one of the regions busiest airports, ICN serves as a major hub in Northern Asia having serving over 50 million passengers annually.

Incheon Airport is located 49km from the centre of Seoul. Buses, trains, ferries and private transfers are available to visitors with the rail option by far the best for those visiting Seoul. The AREX airport express train is a fast, clean and efficient service that transports travellers from airport to city in approximately 40 minutes. The AREX can be taken from the futuristic transport centre located adjacent to Terminal 1.
