Pub Review: The Marlborough Hotel, Newtown, Sydney

The Marlborough Hotel is pub located in Newtown an inner suburb of Sydney. With over 100 years of history and a diverse range of offerings the pub has become one of the most popular in the area

The pub originally opened in 1865 as the Daniel Lambert Hotel before adopting its current name in 1901. The impressive art deco style exterior was added in 1940 and is one of the best examples of this style that still exists in Sydney.

The venue also features a separate German alpine inspired cocktail bar on the first floor called Cuckoo. A well themed space with skis hanging about the bar and what must be a first for a pub in Sydney a rock-climbing wall.
