

Budapest Keleti station is the main international and inter-city railway station serving the city of Budapest in Hungary. The station is one of the best in Europe offering direct international and domestic connections to numerous major cities.
When arriving at the station, allow yourself extra time before your departure to explore the architecture of the monumental terminal building. Built between 1881 and 1884, the station was designed in the eclectic style by Hungarian architects Gyula Rochlitz and János Feketeházy.
The exterior of the building features ornate, arched glass windows that are adorned with several statues. The exterior areas are connected to station’s seven platforms and thirteen tracks via the Grand, Lotz and South halls open public spaces with vaulted ceilings and walls covered in elaborate frescos.
Popular cities that can reached from Budapest Keleti station include Zurich, Munich, Vienna, Cluj, Bucharest, Salzburg and Stuttgart. The station is also connected to the city’s metro systems which is assessable via the pedestrian plaza located directly in front of the main terminal building.
Like most major attractions in Budapest, Budapest Keleti station has featured in several big budget Hollywood movies. Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol features the station as integral part of its opening sequence with the film Black Widow also featuring the station briefly when the titular character arrives in the city.
