Airport Review: Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport (BUD)

Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport is an international airport serving the city of Budapest. The airport is the busiest of Hungary’s four airports. The airport is named after Hungarian composer Franz Liszt.

The airport serves as a hub for Smartwings Hungry and Wizz Air as well as serving as an operating base for Ryan Air. BUD is also served by another 47 airlines that offer flights to Europe, Africa, Asia and the Middle East. 

The airport features two runways that service the airports two terminal buildings. Terminal 1 is used for chartered and private flights. Terminal 2 is split into 2a which focuses on Schengen zone flights and 2b for all flights outside the zone. The two areas of terminal 2 are connected by the modern Sky Court, a shopping, dining and waiting area.

The airport is located 16km southeast of the centre of Budapest in the area of Ferihegy. The 100E bust connects travellers to many locations within the centre of the city. Alternatively, 200E offers a connection to Ferihegy train station where you can continue on to Nyugati station lo Syed in the centre of Budapest.
