Bar Review: Arthouse Hotel, CBD, Sydney

The Arthouse Hotel is a bar located in Sydney’s CBD that features multiple bars and a recently renovated restaurant. Located in the very centre of the Sydney CBD, the bar is one of city’s most stylish venues having undergone a significant renovation in 2022.

The heritage listed building in which the Arthouse Hotel is located was once the long-time home of the Sydney Mechanics’ School of Arts which occupied the building from 1837 to 1988. The Arthouse Hotel would eventually open within the historic space working around its surroundings whilst preserving much of the building’s original features.

An extensive renovation took place in 2022 that added a Mad Hatter’s tea party theme to much of the venue. The main, public bar was renamed the Rabbit Bar, a stylish space befitting of the building’s long and artistic history. The addition of a bronze statue of the white rabbit keeping an ever-watchful eye on his watch is a nice touch that beckons visitors to follow him down the rabbit hole…
