The Sydney Fish Market is located in Glebe, an inner-city suburb of Sydney located west of the CBD. The fish market relocated from its previous location across Blackwattle Bay in 2026. The Sydney Fish Market is the third largest fish market in the world.
Sydney’s original fish market served the city from 1966 to 2026. Due the popularity of the location for both visitors and tourists plans to expand the site were formulated in the 2010s.
The new fish market features a working fishing port, wholesale fish market, retail fish market, fresh produce and deli markets and restaurants overlooking Blackwattle Bay and the Anzac Bridge.
The new building features a modern design that is dominated by its distinctive wave-shaped roof. All retailers are located on level 1 and the working fishing port and facilities located on ground level.
The fish market is easily accessible via Sydney’s Light Rail network. Visitors can alight at the Wentworth Park Light Rail stop and walk five minutes to reach the main entrance.
