The Oaks is a pub located in Neutral Bay, a suburb on the lower North Shore of Sydney. Opened in 1885, the venue has become one of the state’s most popular due its long history and diverse range of offerings.
Contrary to popular belief the pub is not named after its renowned 70-year-old Oak tree but after the Oaks Steam Bricks Company which was located next door. The venue has evolved considerably over its long history, currently featuring a number of distinct spaces across its sprawling footprint.
Taffy’s sports bar is a modern take on the classic sports bar and is the venues de facto front bar. The Bar & Grill offers a slightly more upscale pub bistro experience whilst Alala’s provides a more refined cocktail bar experience. The centrepiece, and where you’ll most likely want to spend most your time, is the beer garden. A drink under the venues historic oak is one of the best experiences you can have at a pub in Sydney.
