Bar Review: Bell in Hand Tavern, Boston

The Bell in Hand Tavern is a historic bar located in Boston. Opened in 1795, the bar is the oldest in Boston and the oldest continuously operating bar across the United States.

The bars name refers to the bell carried by Boston’s last town crier James “Jimmy” Wilson, founder of the Bell in Hand Tavern. Over its long history the bar has been to known to have been visited by everyone from Samuel Adams to John F. Kennedy.

These days you’ll find a mix of locals and tourists sitting side by side enjoying a wide range of tap beers, classic pub food and regular live music.
