Bar Review: The Duke of Clarence, Sydney

The Duke of Clarence is a bar located in the centre of Sydney’s CBD. The bar is heavily inspired by 18th century English taverns and is one of the best themed bars you can find in Sydney.

The bar was constructed using a variety of materials sourced from various locations across the United Kingdom. Some of these materials, including the floorboards, are over 100 years old.

Although the bar has been open for less than 10 years there is a well-worn feel about the place that you’ll only find at some of Sydney’s oldest pubs. This is a testament to the lengths the owners have gone to create a truly authentic, feeling English tavern right in the heart of Sydney.

You’ll find the bar down the laneway that lies between 152 and 156 Clarence Street. When visiting, arrive early as space inside the bar is limited around lunch time and later in the evening.
