Restaurant Review: Gonpachi, Tokyo

Gonpachi is a restaurant located in Tokyo. The restaurant is famous for having served as the inspiration for the House of Blue Leaves, an important location in Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Bill Vol. 1.

Although not the actual filming location from the movie, the restaurant features a similar aesthetic. The restaurant features two levels with the lower level comprised of small tables and bar style seats around the kitchen. The second level features tables that overlook the lower level.

Gonpachi is an Izakaya and features all the popular features of these popular Japanese style restaurant/bar. Expect loud greetings each time a visitor enters or leaves, friendly service and delicious food and drinks.

Gonpachi is located in Nishi-Azabu and is located a short 10 minute walk from Roppongi, Nogizaka and Hiroshima stations on the Tokyo Metro.
