Airport Review: Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL)

Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport is an international airport serving the city of Atlanta. The airport is notable for being the busiest in the world both in terms of passenger traffic and aircraft movements, a record which it’s held since 1998. The airport is named after former Atlanta majors William B. Hartsfield and Maynard Jackson.

The airport serves as a hub for Delta Airlines and an operating base for Frontier Airlines, Southwest Airlines and Spirit Airlines. The airport is also serviced by another 27 airlines that offer flights to cities across North, South and Central America, Europe, Africa, Asia and the Middle East.

The airport features five runways that service the airports domestic and international terminals. Terminals are connected by a mall, underground pedestrian tunnel and an automated people mover called the plane train.

The airport is connected to the city’s MARTA train network featuring a station that is serviced by the systems red and gold line. The airport is also connected via route 191 to the MARTA bus system. Rideshare and taxis are also readily available.
