Airport Review: Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport (YTZ)

Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport is a regional airport serving the city of Toronto, Canada. Although ranking within Canada’s top 10 busiest airports, the airport primarily serves as a domestic airport with select locations in the United States also available.

The airport serves as a hub for Porter Airlines. Air Canada Express and Porter Arlines operate all flights out of YTZ which connect travellers to most major cities across Canada and select cities across the United States.

The airport features a single runway that services a small single terminal building that handles all flights. Due to its close proximity to downtown Toronto, visitors are treated excellent views of the city’s skyline as they land at the airport.

The airport is located on one the largest of Toronto Islands in Lake Ontario. The airport is located to the mainland via an underground pedestrian tunnel. From there visitors can choose between the 509 Harbourfront and 511 Bathurst routes on the Toronto street car system. Taxis and rideshare services are also available.
