Pub Review: Gladstone Hotel, Dulwich Hill, Sydney

The Gladstone Hotel is a pub located in Dulwich Hill, a suburb in the inner west of Sydney. The current hotel was constructed in 1909 replacing another pub with the same name that was constructed in 1884.

The hotel is named after William Gladstone, prime minister of the United Kingdom from 1880 to 1886. Built during the Federation Period, the exterior design of the venue is unique amongst pubs in Sydney. The upper two levels remain virtually unchanged in over hundred years featuring characteristics of the free classical architectural style of pub architecture.

The lower street level and the majority of the pub’s interiors have been heaving modernised. On the inside you’ll find all the amenities you expect from modern pub in Sydney.
