The Cricketer’s Arms Hotel is pub located in the suburb of Surry Hills, close to Sydney’s CBD. Also known as the Crix, the venue is one of the area’s oldest and most popular due to its laid-back atmosphere and old-world charm.
The original pub to occupy the site of the current venue was known as The Pineapple Inn and opened during the 1840s. After burning down in the 1870s the pub was rebuilt in the 1920s as The Cricketer’s Arms Hotel.
The pub would change ownership several times over the next hundred years all of which catered to different groups of people. Each change has left its mark on the venue contributing to history and atmosphere of the current incarnation of this famous Sydney pub.
