The Lady Hampshire is pub located in Camperdown, a suburb in the inner west of Sydney. The venue organically opened in 1882 as the Old Hampshire hotel before taking on its current name intending to serve as the partner pub to the Lord Gladstone in Chippendale.
The venue is a rare example of an Australian pub not located on a corner, instead nestled among its fellow shops along busy Parramatta Road. The pub features a dedicated live music area at the end of the narrow front bar which is one of the most dog friendly in the area.
Be sure to check out the mural of famous Australian icons in the walkway leading to the modest beer garden out back. Interestingly, the pub is also one of the few pubs in Sydney where you can still find Fosters although only in cans.
