How to Visit Museo Peñarol in Montevideo 

The Museo Peñarol is a museum dedicated to the chronicling the history of Uruguayan football team Peñarol. The museum is located within the Palacio Peñarol, the team’s headquarters that also features the home of clubs basketball team and a team store.

The museum opened in 2001 as the Museo Jose Carlos Dominguez de Peñarol. The museum is split into five sections with each part of the museum dedicated to a different part of the teams’s long and illustrious history. 

One highlight is the area dedicated to the team’s success on the international stage with teams five Copa Libertadores trophies and three Intercontinental Cups on display. You’ll also find a number of important artefacts and memorabilia from the team’s history throughout the museum.
