
The Orient Bar is a historic bar located within the landmark Pera Palace Hotel in Istanbul, Turkey. One of the world’s great hotel bars, the storied venue has remained virtually unchanged since opening over 100 years ago.
The bar is renowned for having hosted a variety of interesting characters over its long history with everyone from Greta Garbo to the great Mustafa Kemal Ataturk having been known to have visited the famous bar.
The Orient bar was a popular place for those traveling on the Orient Express to congregate while staying at the Pera Palace which was the preferred hotel for those travelling on the famous train. The hotel itself is also notable for having been the location where Agatha Christie wrote the classic novel Murder on The Orient Express.
