Pub Review: Palace Hotel, Haymarket, Sydney

The Palace Hotel is a 19th century Victorian style Australian pub that has operated from the busy intersection of George and Hay Street since 1877.

The pub was previously known as Bridie O’Reilly’s, Paddy Maguires and the Yarhouse before reverting to its original name in 2012.

Despite having been renovated several times in its 150-year history much of the bars original features have been maintained. The front bar in particular is great example of an Australia pub from the era with its high, tin pressed ceiling and centrally located saloon style bar.
