Bar Review: Hotel Harry, Surry Hills, Sydney

Hotel Harry is a bar located in Surry Hills, a suburb located directly adjacent to the Sydney CBD. The heritage listed Victorian building began trading in 1912 and was known as the Macquarie Hotel for most of existence.

The bar took on its current Caribbean theme in the mid-2010s complete with a Latin inspired menu of food and drinks that fit perfectly with the theme of the overhauled venue. Unfortunately, the menu appears to have changed and has been replaced by a selection of both food and drinks that you’ll find at most pubs and bars in Sydney.

Despite the changes to its menu, the bar still features the Caribbean theme it has now become famous for. The bar is designed from top to bottom to look like any bar publico you’ll find in the old town of any Caribbean city. From the faded paint and vintage style ads on its walls to taste selection of neon signs.
