

Los Angeles International Airport is the primary airport serving the city of Los Angeles. The airport serves as the west coast of the United States gateway to the world offering direct flights to Asia, Australasia, Central and South America. Due to its long history and city which it serves, LAX is one of the most famous airports in the world.
The airport is ranked eighth overall in terms of overall passenger traffic, fourth busiest in the United States and busiest on the West Coast of the United States. When measured by origin and destination flights, not including connections, the airport ranks as the world’s busiest.
The airports most iconic feature is the googie style Theme Building which opened in 1961. The futuristic space age structure is currently unoccupied but has housed a restaurant and observation deck over its long history.
The airport serves as a hub for Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Delta Airlines and United Airlines. LAX is also served by another 74 airlines that offer flights across the United States, North, Central and South America, Asia, Australasia and Europe.
The airport is located 29km southwest of Downtown Los Angeles. Taxis and rideshare are your best option on arrival and are available via the airports dedicated pickup zone, LAX-it, look out for the free, green LAX-it buses are available on the arrivals level.
