
The Weta Cave is a retail store and museum located in Wellington, New Zealand. The museum/shop is located at the front of the Weta Workshop, world renowned for creating the props used in the Lord of the Rings film series.
Inside the ‘cave’ you’ll find a number of authentic props from the Lord of the Rings and Hobbit film series. Replicas of some of some of the more popular props from the films are also available to buy along with other memorabilia and collectibles based on the famous films.
Tours are also available that offer a more in depth and behind the scenes look at the work that goes into creating and crafting the highly detailed props that are on display in the museum/shop.
The Weta Cave is located a 20-minute drive from the Wellington CBD, parking around the site is limited so consider using public transport. If using public transport, the number 2 Miramar bus is your best option, stopping at stop number 6240 on Darlington Road which is short 250 meter walk to the cave.
