Pub Review: The Bald Rock Hotel, Rozelle, Sydney

The Bald Rock Hotel is a heritage listed pub located in Rozelle, a suburb in the inner west of Sydney. The pub is the oldest in the area having opened its doors in 1876.

The pub is named after the area’s former name, Bald Rock due to the bare landscape that used to cover the surrounding area. The venue used to be located closer to the waters of White Bay until the adjacent area was filed in through land reclamation.

The pub’s interiors remain virtually unchanged from what they would have looked like when it first opened with its low, pressed tin ceiling and sandstone walls characteristic features of some of the Sydney’s oldest pubs.
