Pub Review: East Sydney Hotel, Woolloomooloo, Sydney

The East Sydney Hotel is pub located in the inner-city suburb of Woolloomooloo, just east of Sydney’s central business district. The venue is one of the oldest in the area having opened its doors in 1856.

The venue prides itself on being the last country pub in Sydney due to its dedication in maintaining many of the features that make pubs like East Sydney Hotel timeless. As other pubs modernise seeking to chase whatever’s currently popular, the venue has chosen to focus on perfecting what it has been doing right for almost 200 years.

Whether you chose to sit outside on the footpath beneath the wrap around federation style awning, inside the classy front bar, with its worn wooden floorboards, tin ceiling and walls covered in memorabilia or out back in the outdoor dinning area, you really can’t go wrong.
