

GIO Stadium is a multipurpose stadium located in Canberra within the Australian Capital Territory.The stadium opened in 1977 and currently features a seating capacity of 25,011.The stadium is also known as Canberra Stadium when used for international sporting events.
The stadium features a simple design with two tiers. The lower tier is fully seated with two small, semi-covered grandstands. Upon opening, the stadium featured a rounder, ovaloid shape capable of hosting cricket and Australian Rules Football. Significant renovations took place in the late 1990s as the ground was prepared to host part of the football program during the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games.
Currently the stadium is primarily used for rugby league, rugby union and select association football matches. The stadium currently serves as the home ground of the rugby league team Canberra Raiders and the rugby union team ACT Brumbies.
The stadium is located adjacent to the Australian Institute of Sport, not far from the centre of Canberra. Limited on-site parking is available with overflow spaces open on gamedays. Free game day buses are also available on game days provided by Transport Canberra and CDC Canberra stopping at all major transport interchanges across Canberra.
