Airport Review: Memphis International Airport (MEM)

Memphis International Airport is an international airport serving the city of Memphis. Despite offering over 80 commercial flights per day, the airport has a strong reputation for its cargo operations serving as the hub for FedEx Express’ global operations. 

The airport features four runways that service the airports single terminal that handles all domestic and international arrivals and departures. The airport also features FedEx’s Superhub which processes most of the company’s packages as they are transported to cities across United States, Canada, Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and South America.

The airport serves as a hub for Southern Airways Express, a small regional airline offering flights across the United States. The airport is also serviced by another 12 airlines that offer flights to cities across the United States and select cities in Mexico.

Memphis airport is located approximately 20 km from the centre of Memphis. The airport is connected to the city via Memphis Area Transit Authority route 28 bus. Taxis and rideshare services are also readily available with a travel time of approximately 20 minutes.
