Stadium Review: Ajinomoto Stadium, Tokyo

Ajinomoto Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium located in Tokyo. The stadium opened in 2001 and features a capacity of 49,970. The stadium is also known as Tokyo Stadium when used for international events.

The stadium is the home ground for both of the J Leagues Tokyo based teams FC Tokyo and Tokyo Verdy.

The stadium hosted matches in both the men’s and women’s football program at the 2020 Summer Olympic Games. The stadium also hosted seven matches at the 2019 Rugby World including the opening ceremonies.

The stadium is easily accessible via public transport with both Tobitakyū station on the Keiō Line and Tama station on the Seibu Tamagawa Line both located within walking distance of the stadium.
