
Cafe Central is a historic cafe located in Vienna which dates back to 1876. The cafe is known for having been frequented by famous poets, philosophers and storytellers with everyone from Trotsky to Freud having visited the famous Viennese cafe.
The cafe occupies the ground floor of what was once a bank with its vaulted neo renaissance style ceilings providing hints the financial past of the building.
The cafe was once known as the Chess school with many chess players using the first floor for matches.
The service matches the grandeur of the architecture with excellent waitstaff live piano playing providing a classical soundtrack to your meal or drink.
Although technically a cafe, you’ll find a menu full of Austrian and international dishes and drinks menu with beer, wine and spirits.
