The Bristol is a pub located in the central Sydney, close to Darling Harbour. The venue originally opened in 1898 having been modified several times in the over 120 years since its construction.
The pub was one of Sydney’s most notorious wharfie pubs when workers from the ships at nearby darling harbour would frequent the venue that would become known as the ‘bloodhouse.’ The pub would later be known as The Welcome Inn in the 1930s a name it would carry until reverting to its original name in the 1980s.
The venue reopened as the Bristol in 2024 and is decidedly modern take on the Australian pub, a self described multi concept space spread over five levels that caters to a different crowd.
