Old Mate’s Place is a hidden bar located in the centre of Sydney’s CBD. One Sydney’s best bars that serves great cocktails by friendly waitstaff in a character filled setting.

The bar is hidden away on level four of an office block along Clarence Street, look for door marked Villa Rose. From there you can either take the lift, or really earn that first drink by taking the approximately 102 sets of stairs.

Once you make it to the top, you’ll find a classy, wood panelled saloon-style bar with red leather booths and plenty natural foliage. The bar oozes character with its walls stacked with vintage books and random knickknacks.

The bar also features a small rooftop terrace bar with views of the Sydney’s central business district skyline.
