The Screwdriver is a simple two ingredient cocktail that includes orange juice and vodka. Due to its history and ease of preparation the cocktail has become of the most famous vodka-based cocktails.

The concept of the drink is said to have originated during World War II, where Americans stationed in China and Turkey would mix orange juice with spirits.

The origin was of the name Screwdriver is a bit more contentious, though most stories indicate that due to lack of proper stirring instrument, a screwdriver was used to mix the simple juice and vodka mixture.

Ingredients

–              60ml vodka

–              Orange juice

–              1 orange

Preparation

1.            Fill a Collins glass with ice

2.            Add the vodka and orange juice to glass and stir

3.            Garnish with a slice of orange
