Arena Guide: Qudos Bank Arena, Sydney

Qudos Bank Arena is a multi-purpose indoor arena located in Sydney, Australia. The arena opened in 1999 and features a capacity of 21, 032. The arena was originally known as the Sydney Super Dome before becoming Acer Arena and Allophones Arena and adopting its current name in 2016.

The arena was built to serve as one of the main venues for the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games. Opened as the Sydney Super Dome, the arena is part of the wider Sydney Olympic Park which also features the adjacent Stadium Australia (Accor Stadium), the principal venue of the 2000 Olympics. Over 25 years after its construction, the arena is still the largest of its kind in Australia.

The arena serves as the home court of the Sydney Kings basketball team in the National Basketball League (NBL). The arena is also a popular concert serving as the de facto indoor venue for the majority of local and international musicians and entertainers when visiting Sydney. 

The arena’s location within Sydney’s Olympic Park in Sydney’s west makes it easily accessible from most parts of Sydney. The Olympic Park Station is located within walking station of the arena and is part of the T1, T2 and T7 lines on the Sydney Train’s rail network.
