Train Station Guide: Sentral Station, Kuala Lumpur

Sentral Station is the main station serving the city of Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia. Sentral Station is the largest in Malayasia and the second largest across South East Asia. The station opened in 2001, replacing the historic Kuala Lumper Railway station as the city’s principal railway station.

The station features a modern design that was intended to serve as an intermodal transportation hub that is connected to the majority of public transportation options that service the city. Since opening in 2001, several additions have been made to the station site which now includes a variety of different retail, commercial and office space.

As Malayasia’s principal transportation hub, Sentral Station is well connected nationally with most major cities across the peninsula accessible via the station. There are no direct international connections accessible via Sentral Station with train changes necessary to reach either Singapore in the south and Thailand in the north.
