
Seville Airport is a medium sized airport serving the city of Seville in southern Spain. The airport is the sixth busiest airport in Spain and is seen as an important hub for flights across southern Spain and northern Africa. The airport is also known as Aeropuerto de Sevilla-San Pablo.
The airport received significant upgrades in 1991 in preparation for the city hosting Expo ’92. Further upgrades were completed in 2022 that were designed to better larger passenger numbers that expected to increase over the coming years.
The airport does not serve as a hub for any airlines but does serve as focus city for Ryan Air and Vueling. The airport is connected to 20 cities across Spain and 57 cities across Europe with select international flights to major cities in Morocco by 20 different airlines.
SVQ features a single runway that services a single terminal building that handles both domestic and international flights. The terminal building is clean and features all the amenities one would expect from an airport of its size. The departures area of the terminal features a distinctive arched design that reflects the style of the some the city’s famous architecture.
It’s located 10 km northeast of the Seville city centre. The Especial Aeropuerto bus offers a direct link between the SVQ and Santa Justa train station and Plaza de Armas bus station, two of the city’s biggest transportation hubs. Taxis and rideshare services are also available with the trip taking approximately 20 minutes.
