

Angel Stadium is a stadium located in the city of Anaheim. Affectionately known as the Big A, the stadium opened in 1966 and currently features a capacity of 45,050. Angel Stadium us the fourth oldest stadium that is still used in Major League Baseball after Fenway Park, Wrigley Field and Dodger Stadium.
The stadium was built specially to be the home ground of the Los Angeles after they entered Major League Baseball in 1961. The dimensions used for the stadium were derived from a scientific study intended to provide the most balanced conditions. The stadium’s capacity remained consistent for most of its history expect during the 1980s and early 90s when the capacity was increased to approximately 70,000 when the stadium was also home to the Los Angeles Rams.
The stadium features a number of unique features that give the venue a great sense of place and team history. The main entrance features two giant Angels baseball caps which are officially a New Era size 649½. Inside you’ll find the California Spectacular a water feature made of rocks and trees that reacts to Angel’s home runs and wins.
The stadium’s most famous feature, however, is the Big A sign which has been part of the stadium for most of its long history. Formerly the stadium’s score outfield scoreboard the sign is now located in the parking lot next the surrounding freeway and has become a landmark in and of itself.
