

Los Angels Memorial Coliseum is a multipurpose stadium located Los Angeles, California. The stadium currently features a capacity of 77,500 having featured a capacity 100,000 at several times in its long history. The stadium is one of the most famous in the United States cementing its statues with a designation as a national historic landmark in 1984.
Planning for the stadium began in 1921 as a memorial to Los Angeles based veterans from World War I opening 1923 the stadium became the largest in Los Angeles. The Olympic torch was added prior to the 1932 Olympics and remains as the stadium’s most iconic symbol.
The stadium was extensively renovated in 2019, adding luxury boxes and modern amenities, reducing the capacity from 92,348 to 77,500 and in the process essentially ruining the stadium’s symmetrical horseshoe design.
The stadium primarily serves as the home ground of the USC Trojans college football team. The stadium also served as the home of the Los Angeles Rams from 1946 to 1979 and again from 2016 and 2019. The stadium was also notably the site of the first Super Bowl in 1967 whilst also hosting Super Bowl VII.
The stadium hosted the athletics program and ceremonies at the 1932 and 1984 Olympics games and is expected to do so again for a record third time at the 2028 edition of the games. The stadium also served as the temporary home of the Los Angeles Dodgers when the team arrived in the city.
Limit parking spaces are available around the stadium on game days. The best way to reach the Coliseum is via the E Line, a specialised light rail track that is part of and connects with the greater Los Angeles Metro Rail system. Alight at either the Expo Park/USC or Expo/Vermont stations both located within walking distance of the stadium.
