Arena Guide: Scotiabank Arena, Toronto

Scotiabank Arena is a multi-purpose arena located in Downtown Toronto. The arena has been the city’s main indoor arena since opening in 1999 and features a maximum capacity of 20,511 that is customisable depending on the event held. The arena was formerly known as Air Canada Centre a name which it held from its opening until the current name was adopted in 2018.

The venue was built to replace the Maple Leaf Gardens the long-time home of the Toronto Maple Leafs and the city’s principal indoor arena for almost 70 years. The arena was built on the ground formerly occupied by the Toronto Postal delivery building. The eastern and southern sides of the building were integrated into the design of the new arena giving the venue a unique look.

The arena is the home of the Toronto Maple Leafs in the National Hockey League and the Toronto Raptors in the National Basketball Association. The arena is also a popular concert venue and regular stop for most local and international musicians when visiting Toronto.

Scotiabank Arena is located in the centre of Toronto making it easily accessible from anywhere in the centre. Located directly behind the city’s main railway hub makes getting to the arena by train the best option.
