Airport Review: Victoria Falls Airport (VFA)

Victoria Falls Airport is a small international airport serving the tourist town of Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe. The airport serves as the gateway for visitors wishing to visit the majestic Victoria Falls.

The airport features a single runway that services VFA’s two terminals. The newest of the two terminals was opened in 2016 and caters predominately to international flights whereby the airports original terminal building has been repurposed for domestic flights.

VFA is serviced by 10 airlines that offer flights predominately to countries in Southern Africa with a single, seasonal international flight available to Frankfurt via Discover Airlines. Flights are also available to South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Kenya, Ethiopia and several cities across Zimbabwe.

The new terminal building is as good as any similar sized airports that can be found across Africa. Public spaces are clean with ample dining and retail options available to visitors. Despite the new facilities, the arrivals process can be slow if you are entering via a visa on arrival.

The airport is located approximately 20 kilometers south from the town of Victoria Falls. We advise all visitors to organise a personal transfer with your hotel ahead of your arrival, expect the trip into town to take approximately 20 minutes.
