The Singapore Sling is a cocktail originating from Singapore. Invented in 1915 by Ngiam Tong Boon, bartender at The Raffles Hotel, the cocktail has gone on to become one of the world’s most famous and is a must try when visiting Singapore.
Although the original recipe is somewhat disputed, the common recipe, and the one currently used at The Raffles Hotel, is a delicious mix of spirits, liqueurs and fruit —a perfect remedy to Singapore’s punishing humidity.
The Singapore Sling is one of the more complex cocktails to make, requiring 10 different ingredients, but it’s well worth it for those willing to try.
