How to Visit the Feria de Tristán Narvaja in Montevideo

The Feria de Tristán Narvaja is an outdoor flea market that takes place each Sunday in Montevideo, Uruguay. It is estimated that the market draws approximately 3000 vendors each Sunday.

The market originally began in 1909 as a market specialising in agricultural products before expanding considerably over the next 110 years. These days, a wider range of items can be found with everything from fresh fruit, souvenirs, clothing and street food available to visitors.

The market occupies the full length of Tristán Narvaja, from 18 de Julio all the way down to La Paz Street. In recent years, the market has expanded further into nearby streets occupying most of the streets adjacent and parallel to Tristán Narvaja.

The market usually begins early on Sunday morning continuing until the late afternoon. If you happen to find yourself in Montevideo on a Sunday, be sure to add a visit to the Feria de Tristán Narvaja to your itinerary.
