Stadium Review: Kyocera Dome, Osaka

Kyocera Dome is a baseball stadium located in Osaka. The stadium opened in 1997 and features a maximum capacity of 55,000. The stadium is the home of Nippon Professional Baseball team Orix Buffaloes. The stadium has served as the Buffaloes home since 2007 when the team merged with the Orix BlueWave.

Despite its age, the stadium still looks and feels modern, rivalling many new baseball stadiums that have been built in the near 30 years since Kyocera Dome’s construction. The exterior of the stadium features a striking design that dominates the surrounding skyline. The stadium’s interior features a ceiling that resembles a UFO.
