Estádio do Pacaembu is a football stadium located in São Paulo. The stadium opened in 1940 and currently features a capacity of 40,199. Due to sponsorship reasons the stadium is currently known as Mercado Livre Arena Pacaembu.

The stadium’s main entrance features a striking art deco design which has been carefully maintained almost 100 years after its construction.

The stadium hosted six games at the 1950 FIFA World Cup including one match of host team Brazil and two by eventual champions Uruguay.

The stadium has been used as the second stadium for four of São Paulo’s biggest teams: Corinthians, Palmeiras, São Paulo and Santos.

The stadium is also home to the Museo do Futebol a museum which retells the history of football in Brazil.

The stadium is located within walking distance of Paulista and Clinicas stations on the Sao Paulo Metro.
