Casino Review: Golden Gate Hotel & Casino, Las Vegas

The Golden Gate is a hotel and casino located on the popular Fremont Street Experience in Las Vegas. A hotel has operated from the same site at 1 Fremont Street since 1906 making it the oldest hotel in Las Vegas.

Although only featuring 122 rooms, the smallest hotel on Fremont Street, rooms are boutique style with a nod to the hotels long history and are a nice mix between old and new.

In 1959 the casino was the first to serve the famous shrimp cocktail which, for better or worse, has since become a Las Vegas staple.

The Golden Gate’s casino is also technically the oldest in Las Vegas although recent renovations have removed much of the old school aesthetic from the casino floor. Part of the modernised casino include the hotel’s dancing dealers that take Las Vegas table games to the next level.
