How to Visit the Neon Museum in Las Vegas

The Neon Museum is an outdoor museum that displays and preserves neon signs from old Las Vegas casinos and business. The museum opened to the public in 2012 after spending years as the by appointment only Neon Boneyard.

The museum’s shell shaped visitor centre is located within the former lobby of the La Concha Motel which was formally located on the Las Vegas Strip. The museum’s collection includes over 200 neon signs so of which have been restored to working order across a 2.27-acre site.

Many of the signs on display are from classic Las Vegas that are no longer operating like the Stardust, Riviera and Tropicana. Other highlights include the giant fibreglass skull from the former sign at Treasure Island.

In a city that seems to reinvent itself every few years its great to know that there is place dedicated to preserving its long and neon lit history. Self-guided and guided tours are available where you can learn about the signs on display and the businesses they used to represent.

The Neon Museum is located a short 4-minute drive from the Fremont Street Experience and Downtown Las Vegas.
