Pub Review: Keg & Brew Hotel, Surry Hills, Sydney

Historic Sydney pub located in the suburb of Surry Hills, close to the city’s CBD. This heritage listed venue has been a prominent feature of the area for over 140 years.

The pub was formerly known as the KB Hotel before taking on its current name. Despite having received a number of modern additions over the past decade the owners have managed to retain much of its original features like the classic Australian pub tiles that line the exterior of the lower level.

The pub manages to squeeze in a lot considering its small footprint on the corner of Foveaux and Commonwealth Street. The lower level features a centrally located bar in a cozy space that has been styled to look like American saloon. Levels one and two are more open spaces able to accommodate larger groups and functions. The rooftop features a pizza oven, extended drinks menu with views over the city below.
