The Edinburgh Castle Hotel is a historic pub located in the centre of Sydney’s CBD. The pub, affectionately known as The Eddy, originally opened in 1885 and is one of the most popular pubs that can be found in the centre of Sydney.
The pub is known to have been a hangout for famous Australian writer and poet Henry Lawson who is believed to have written the Star of Australasia and signed his first book deal for The Days When the World Was Wide whilst enjoying drinks at the pub.
The downstairs bar area is warm and classy space with the current fit out maintaining much of the rich character of the 19th century hotel. Upstairs you’ll find the more sophisticated Dusk Club Lounge Bar named after the Dawn and Dusk Club, a 19th Century writers club of which Lawson was also a member.
