TRIP Star Wars: Identities is a new exhibition that premiered in 2018 at Sydney’s Powerhouse Museum. Visitors can expect to find over 200 pieces of original Star Wars memorabilia: costumes, props and original concept art covering the 40+ year history of the popular film franchise. These items are intertwined amongst a highly interactive experience that allows visitors to create their own unique Star Wars character.
TAP Star Wars: Identities prioritises interactivity over everything else. Before entering, visitors are issued with an ear piece and wristband – essential parts of each visitor’s experience. As visitors make their way through the exhibition, different stations present a different part of what shapes our own identities, illustrated using examples from the Star Wars films.
Visitors interact with each station using the provided wristband, making choices that will ultimately shape the identity of their unique Star Wars character. The exhibition is also surprisingly informative making it a must visit for Star Wars fans of all ages. The interactive elements prevent Identities from becoming just another Star Wars exhibition, providing a new way for fans of the franchise to immerse themselves within the Star Wars universe.
GO Star Wars: Identities is open in Sydney until 10 June 2019. Tickets are $36 for adults and $23 for children and can be purchased from Ticketek. For more information on Star Wars: Identities, visit the Museum of Applied Arts & Sciences. The best way to get to the Power House Museum is via Sydney’s light rail network (Paddy’s Market Station).
